Pictures of Matthew

Elder Bird (Matts) sent home pictures tonight I thought you would like to see them. He is doing fine and keeping busy. He said that he and his companion were caught in the rain this past week. He said he heard how hard it rains down there, but he had no idea how bad it was. But at least it was cooler after the rain.

Gracie and Addie are growing up so fast. Addie is happy to have Gracie in her family. She is a good big sister. She is accepting Gracie better that I thought she would.

Memorial day pictures

Hawaii Photos

All 4 looking at once!

The Swimming pool at our hotel on the Big Island. This side of the island has beaches, not like the other islands. Our hotel was on a small inlet that did not let waves into the beach. It was very interesting to not hear or see waves on the beach.
This swimming pool was David's favorite, it was an infinity pool, just the right depth and temp.

Lava Tunnel on the Big Island
David was very disapointed about not being able to see the real lava. He also wanted to go to the observatory. We drove to the half way point of the mountain and we found out that it was snowing at the top and that the road was closed.

Our first night on the Big Island we stayed at a hotel called Uncle Billy's. David loved the name of the place, the hotel looked like it was one of the first built on that side of the island. But it was clean and we were amazed at the loud sound of frogs hiding in the trees. They sounded like birds - it was very interesting. The frogs are not originally from Hawaii, but they can not get rid of them.

View from out hotel room on Kauai
We were able to watch the cruise ships come and go. Our hotel was just a few minutes from the airport. We did drive to the north side of the island, I did forget my camera, so we will have great memories.

Dolphin show at the Hilton hotel on the Big Island. We were lucky enough to walk by just as they started the show. They have a lot of Dolphins - at least 6 or 7. The little girl in the picture was able to feed, swim and talk to the dolphin.
This hotel is so big that they have trams to carry people from the lobby to their rooms.
Our hotel was down the street from the Hilton.
