Matthew has received his Mission Call

Matts received his Mission call tonight! He is going to go to Cuernavaca, Mexico on February 16th.

It is about 45 minutes away from Mexico City, and is called the City of Eternal Spring. His mission is the largest or looks like the largest in Mexico. It spread down from the middle of the country to the western coast of the country.

The city has multiple universities, ruins and Medieval fortress.

Good luck Matthew - we love you!

Fall Cleaning

Here I am again trying to clean out my basement room - and I have too many things in my room, so, if anyone is interested I am giving away a room full of fabric. I have been through the greens, and dark blues and I have 2 huge bags full with more to come.

So just let me know and you can look through to see if any of them look good to you.

Summer Fun

Labor Day = the end of summer. I can tell it is fall because both of the boys have moved to Provo and Sarah is taking the last of her classes before she is finished with school.

So, what will I be doing? I have a house that has been neglected for months, quilts to finish and a new fabric line to try to please the Henry Glass people. They think my flowers look like eyeballs! Or maybe they are faces and not flowers. I'm not sure it is worth it.

Katie's house is starting to look like a home, it is fun to watch the changes she has in mind come to life. Addie loves to play in her very own backyard and blowing bubbles has become her favorite thing to do, both Grandma and Sarah have become light headed from all of the breath it takes to keep her happy. But of course what ever Addy wants from us, she gets!

Our boat finally got to fly over the water, just what is was made for. We went boating last Saturday for the 1st time this year. It was a beautiful day, high 90's and the only problem we had was trying to see the trailer through the mucky water at Utah lake. It was nice to be with our little family again, we had only ourselves to talk to. It did not last long because the BYU game started at 5:00 so we were out of the water by 3:00.

Here are a few of the pictures we took the last few months - Happy Fall, Laurie

Home Again

Matthew is home! He had a wonderful time. His plane flew in on Sunday night, then early Tuesday morning he went to Trek with our Stake. David went also, I was completely alone for the week they were gone.

While Matts was in Europe he was at the Eiffiel Tower, and Versailles on the same days, but at different times. Too bad they did not get to see each other and have the pictures. (Excuse my french spellings)

Jonathan is in Italy now, but when he was in Paris at the Lourve he ran into your friends the Bekkers! And Sarah saw a guy from the her ward in London! (Or some thing like that).

So what did I do while they have been away? Not as much as I thought I would, I finished a quilt for Pine Needles, taught a class, cleaned out some books and fabric I don't want/need any more. And the most fun of all is that I got to take care of Addie while Katie was at the dentist. I'll try to post a few photos - wish me luck.

Slow Summer Weeks

Our house has been buzzing lately - not from a lot of activity, but from the World Cup Games! The sound makes me crazy, but we have to watch the US play - Let Won!! Let's hope this game going on right now will be just as good.

Jonathan leaves tomorrow morning with Stephen for their World Trip.
Wow - what will David and I do with the house empty for a change? Not as much laundry, dishes, who knows. I will miss the kids every day.

If you are on face book, watch my video of Addie dancing - I took it from Reed's face book. She is so funny to watch and listening to Reed laugh is just as good.

See you soon!

Happy Father's Day

David had breakfast in bed before he had to run to the Ward to do his Bishoping duties.
It was a little different because Matts is in Europe and Jonathan stayed over night. It has been only a few days with out Matts at home, but it is not the same. He is not a very noise kid, but he is all ways hungry. We have seen pictures from his trip and he looks happy.
Sarah is leaving Tuesday - that will be different again. The Jonathan leaves next Sunday with Stephen Bird. The house will seem much bigger without the kids.

If you want to learn about Matt's trip you can log onto curtistravelers.blogspot.com They post about each day, tomorrow they leave Rome and go to Florence - I think.

Life is Good!

Summer is almost here

Summer is suppose to be here, it was hot and humid in Minneapolis last week. When we walked out of the convention center at 6:00 p.m. is was 87 degrees! It was 73 in the morning.

Sarah was a good sport to go with me again to quilt market, I would not know what to do if she did not help and support me. Even when we end up at the wrong airport and car rental when we were short on time. Who would think that there would be two airports and car rentals right next to each other. The GPS had a list of Minneapolis airports to go to. We chose the top one.

Matts is graduating next Thursday at 6:30 at the U of U. You are all invitied to come. I will be happy while I am there, but I will go home a cry. It will not be home without Matts here to keep us going.

But summer is here...

Here is a picture of my Aunt Janet, Michelle, Aunt Dixie, Mary Winters, Me and Faye. All of these wonderful women have been in our lives to help, support and love us through all of the trials we have lived through. My mother was very blessed to have family and friends who filled our lives with so much love. Thank you for all you do and who you are.

Easter in St George

We had a short trip to St George, but it was great. The weather was beautiful, alittle cool at first the it warmed up to the high 60's/70's and the sun was shinning! We tried to fly a kite and played on the slide. Addie is of course the star of the photos, but I have a few of rest of us mixed in.
Opps! All of the pictures are of Addie.

Snow Days

January is over in about a week. 2010 is in full swing. It has been snowing on and off for the last 3 days. It has given me the time to relax a bit and think about every one and every thing I am grateful for in my life.

January is full of birthdays, Jonathan my oldest son. I was very nervous to have a baby boy to teach and love. He has been a blessing in my life everyday since he was born. My father's birthday was last week. He was not in my life for a long time, I did not think my children would met him. But he is part of our lives and my children know him, and can laugh and talk with him and about him. I would not have believed that would happen in my life 20 years ago.

My brother in law, Alan, who keeps us in line when every he is in town. Thanks for the great trip, the cruise opened up the world to me. My sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Susan, who serve others continually with out complaining. They amaze me when ever we get together with all that they do for their families, church and neighbors.

Thanks to all of you and all the wonderful people in my life! A new year is here and a new day every day to be a better person.
